Charles D. Rushmore

Charles D. Rushmore is the founder of L2 Advisors, LLC, and a financial planner, and since 1998, he has been helping people create a personalized retirement plan and savings analysis. From his years of working with employers and clients, he has developed a network of professionals who he can refer clients to for professional services that arise from the financial planning process. He brings the value of these relationships to all clients and community partners.
The focus of his practice is helping individuals plan and manage their retirement so they hopefully do not outlive their money. His personal and professional experiences have helped him realize that his firm’s role is to provide clients with current, thoughtful, and ethical advice on a wide range of issues. Chuck, as well as many of his clients, has personally experienced the emotional and physical stress of helping family members dealing with aging parents and their long term care health needs. As a result, he has a particular interest in this area and helps clients work through the details with respect to financial, estate, and health care planning. He has completed courses that make him knowledgeable in long term care insurance planning. This gives him the experience to provide perspectives on extended care planning, the subject of longevity and its consequences on a client’s family and finances.
Chuck graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
He has earned securities licenses, including the Series 7, 63, 65, and 24 and is licensed in Michigan, Oregon, and Florida. He is also licensed to offer his clients in Michigan Life, Disability, and Long Term Care insurance. This affords him the opportunity to provide clients with a wide array of financial options as he constructs comprehensive financial plans that are individualized to each client.
Chuck has been involved with Habitat for Humanity of Kent County, Inc. for many years. He served on the board of directors as board secretary and a board member for over seven years. In 2002, he was chosen to represent the board of directors at the Jimmy Carter Work Project in Durban, South Africa. Chuck was on his church’s financial committee for six years and served as chairperson for two years. After graduating from college, Chuck spent time in Jamaica as a Peace Corp Volunteer teaching high school students. He has traveled to Brazil, Europe, Jamaica, Mexico, South Africa, and the German Democratic Republic (formerly East Germany). Chuck and his wife, Martha, have two grown sons and spend their vacation time traveling in their motor home.
